In this performance, Espen Langbråten (Helmers Hage) looks at the life and poetry of the forgotten American poet Joaquin Miller.

Langbråten has set a collection of his poems to music and tells the story of Miller and his family who traveled from Indiana and west to Oregon.

Young Miller was part of the great gold rush, was a rider on the Pony Express and went to England to make a name for himself with his poetry. Langbråten has set the poems to music in a modern Americana setting and conveys the mood of the poetry as honestly as possible.
